My Daily Roadtrip

My guest post at Passionate Homemaking

Lindsay at Passionate Homemaking was looking for guest posts for the month of July – I submitted one and it was published today! You can check out some of my thoughts about “vacationing” with children here. Also, take some time to look around her blog – I appreciate many of her thoughts on parenting, living simply and frugally, and loving Jesus, just to name a few. Enjoy!

  1. Hi there, I am a first time visitor to your blog and came from Passionate Homemaking, a blog I’ve loved for years!! Your blog title caught my eye as “roadtrips” are one of my favorite activities. Although your blog is about a roadtrip of a different sort, I’ve enjoyed reading some of your posts.

The recent posts about the Waldo Canyon fire struck a deep chord with me as we spent five weeks in Colorado last summer (next to my own beloved Tennessee, Colorado is probably my favorite state!!) and hiked extensively in this area. I’ve kept close watch on the fire and spent much time in prayer for those who’ve lost their homes and livelihoods. To suddenly find a blog of someone who lives so close and actually had to evacuate…..well, it just seemed that I wanted to know more of your story! So I’ve added you to my reader and will enjoy following along on your daily roadtrip!!

This is not a plug for you to visit my blog (although I’d be honored if you did), but I so enjoy reading posts from others who write about visiting my state, so if you’d like to read the posts I wrote last year while we were in Colorado, most of them were posted in September, 2011. Our trip was actually in May, but I changed blog format for my travel journal in September, so that’s where the May posts are found. Hope that makes sense!!

Looking forward to reading more from you.

    • Hi, Sharon. Thx so much for checking out my blog and for leaving your comment! It is fun to know that you can picture the area I live in and I appreciate your concern for the area – thank you for praying. The fire is now 100% contained – praise God! I was able to stop over at your blog and glance at a few of your posts, although I would like to head back there when I have more time to read (and would be interested to read the entries from when you visited CO!). Thx for the invite!
